Art of Repair Shop Apprenticeship Programs
For new or confused Electronics Repair Shop owners who want to be shown the way.
Don’t even consider starting an apprenticeship if you’re the type who procrastinates and then calls it quality work. In high-quality programs like this one, the small details are not only the X factor that distinguishes exceptional work from the average, but they are also the currency of success. Apprenticeships are designed to put pressure on you, revealing the diamond inside by pushing you to your limits and beyond. This commitment to excellence is the invisible difference between those who excel and the peers you notice around you who keep doing better and better, while you remain stagnant.
You should only consider an AOR Apprenticeship if you’re ready to learn all the repair industry secrets and have the freedom to ask unlimited questions without sacrificing a large share of your business or decision-making power. An apprenticeship provides you with hands-on experience, allowing you to fully understand the ins and outs of the industry. This way, you retain 100% ownership of your business, enjoy all the daily profits, and keep any potential future profits if you decide to sell. It’s a smart choice for anyone looking to avoid the headache of figuring everything out on their own over a decade or longer, but quickly mastering running an electronics repair shop from the perspective of someone who’s not only been there and done that, but done so at a truly global level, just like I have.
Will you master the Art of Repair in a Year? or a Decade?
If your instincts are saying yes, keep reading and let's explore this journey together.
First, consider the total time you'll be investing.
I think it's super important to fully understand the time commitment for these programs. Unlike other online courses and platforms that might not be transparent, I want to make sure you know exactly what you’re getting into. My goal isn’t just to hand you a certification at the end but to guide and challenge you throughout the entire apprenticeship, ensuring you’re truly prepared for what lies ahead.
| Package | Duration | eLearning Study (Total Hours) | Live Skills Verification (Total Hours) | In-Shop Discussions (Total Hours) | Total Hours | Price |

Next lets see how that works out per week.
Seeing the apprenticeship as a total time investment can feel overwhelming and daunting, especially since you likely have a life or shop to manage. However, focusing on smaller weekly chunks makes it much easier to envision completing a program of any length. I've broken down each program into weekly goals that, in my opinion, require less than part-time community college levels of commitment. This allows you to complete the program confidently alongside your regular life.

Explore the details of each Apprenticeship.
Now that you can see how manageable it is to complete any of the programs, it’s time to think about your internal goals and dreams. Do you just need to solve a small issue with your established repair shop? Do you have significant problems to tackle? Are you looking to understand everything needed to have your own shop? Or maybe you aspire to run multiple shops with well-trained staff? Now is the time to read over each apprenticeship and see which one fits your life best so you can achieve your dreams.
If you’re uncertain about committing to a long-term mentorship or if you’re already established and just need some fine-tuning or a business audit, this is the perfect option to set you on the right path. My goal is to assess your current situation and help you start building an action plan tailored to your needs.
Throughout the one-month period, my involvement will be capped at 12 hours. This typically includes hour-long discussions on Monday and Friday to review the plan and evaluate its progress during the week, amounting to a total of 8 hours. Additionally, I will dedicate another 2 hours on an initial onboarding call to understand the issues more and create a base plan and the final 2 hours on the backend, addressing any necessary tasks to support your objectives.
After the one-month trial, it will be up to you to implement the plan, or you can choose to sign a longer commitment service agreement. Additionally, the price you paid for the trial month can be applied toward a longer apprenticeship, reducing the overall cost. Please note that this package does not include any e-learning content, additional services, or shop features or tools.
The 4 Month Shakedown Apprenticeship is ideal for those who are just starting out and have limited funds but recognize that they need professional guidance to get their business on track. Together, we’ll address your business challenges and create an action plan to guide you from point A to points B, C, D, and beyond, using proven techniques that have worked for repair shops worldwide. During this four-month apprenticeship, we’ll diligently work to overcome major hurdles and address any unique challenges you may face. While you may not learn everything there is to know, following my guidance will significantly improve your situation.
This apprenticeship includes the Full Basic eLearning Package, which requires approximately 50 hours of independent study, or roughly 3 hours per week. To ensure you complete the eLearning material in a reasonable time, I will provide 30 hours of dedicated technical training over the four months. Additionally, there are 2 hours per week for in-shop discussions via Zoom, adding another 32 hours. This results in a total of 7 hours per week of live interaction with me, amounting to 112 hours over the four months.
This comprehensive support, along with unlimited text-based support, ensures that you have the guidance and accountability needed to succeed.
Tools Requirement
While basic Level 2 tools are relatively affordable, if you wish to maximize your repair skills and potential, an additional investment of $800 to $2000 in advanced tools, including microsoldering equipment, may be required. This extra set of tools is not included in the apprenticeship price but can significantly increase your shop’s overall turnover. I will personally assist you in sourcing these tools at the best possible prices and provide free setup assistance via video call if you choose to pursue this advanced toolset.
Additionally, there may be further costs associated with shop-level enhancements to add services or address specific shop-level issues. While I will guide you through these enhancements and instruct you on how to implement them, the responsibility for covering these additional expenses rests with you if you decide to integrate them into your shop.

Additionally, we will explore marketing strategies, focusing on both paid sponsored ads and the creation of proper organic marketing material. Understanding and utilizing both organic and paid marketing are essential for establishing a strong and lasting presence in your community. Essentially, you’ll be positioning yourself as a cornerstone business in your area.

In this special program, it doesn’t just end after your initial apprenticeship. You won’t be left to figure things out on your own. I’ll step in as your company’s de facto Co-CEO & COO, ensuring all decisions are unbiased and focused on keeping your repair shop profitable while you maintain full ownership and control. This setup gives you the focus of a stakeholder-level partnership and the passion of someone whos broken all the glass cielings looking for more, without taking a single share of your company.
Over the three-year term, I will continue to mentor you, keeping you updated on all things repair. I’ll make sure you’re always at the forefront with excellent services, training, and offerings. My goal is to ensure you’re confident and prepared, whether you choose to take the business to new heights at the end of three years or decide to sell and embark on your next adventure. You’ll have peace of mind, knowing that someone is always watching over you, your business, and your employees, ensuring your core mission of high-quality repairs and community trust remains as strong as your commitment to staying profitable.

Frequenty Asked Questions
First and foremost, the cost of your initial consult is deducted from any service agreement with me. Just like hiring a lawyer who has spent years mastering the law to support you, I’ve dedicated the same effort to this industry. The truth is, I want to put 1000% effort into addressing your concerns and questions when we start this process. As you’ll learn for your own repair shop, the best way to ensure commitment is through a vested interest. This means you’re serious enough to be financially invested. It prevents my calendar from filling up with tire kickers who just want to chat and allows me to wholeheartedly work on understanding your needs and building your personalized program.
Each apprenticeship is a massive mental undertaking for me because of the passion and dedication I put into each apprentice. It only makes sense that you should talk to me about one when you’re truly ready. The cost will always go toward something valuable and won’t be wasted.

Genuinly, my first instinct is to tell you that if you check the timetables and just feel you cant do it, dont force yourself into one, you need to want to be here as well as have the time to be here, with that being said I also offer my services in a simple, flexible way. For those who need help with a single or small issue, I provide a 12-hour package as a one-month trial. In some cases, I also offer single-hour direct consultations. The topics available for these consultations can be viewed at the following link under this answer. I would never encourage anyone to take on an apprenticeship if they don’t have the time. It wastes both your time and mine. I only want those who are truly committed and want to be here.
No, just like in the name “The Art of Repair,” not every painting is the same as the last, even if it’s of the same subject. Your journey will never be the same as the next shop. Each program is tailored to your individual needs. The overall goal is to get to know you and figure out the best way to help you thrive as a repair or electronics shop. This is a highly bespoke service, not a cookie-cutter program that tries to force-feed you the same solutions regardless of your unique shop or situation. I have traveled the globe and found that while there are many universal truths and methods in our industry, one of those universal truths is that there are many different types and demographics of repair that require unique and thoughtfully planned solutions. It’s crucial to focus on the individual and their specific dreams.
I have experience in every facet of this industry, from employee and manager to shop owner, wholesaler, factory worker, and design engineer. I tailor each apprenticeship to the individual student, ensuring you are prepared to handle whatever comes your way.
Depending on your program length:
- Month-long trial: Focuses on solving a single issue or a few small issues, getting you back on track, or slightly pushing you forward.
- 4-month program: This fast-tracked program covers a broad spectrum of common issues most shops face, pushing you ahead in areas like shop management, technical skills, customer service, additional profitable services, and proper marketing. It’s incredibly popular because those who are truly driven and use their time wisely are able to rocket off on their own with a solid foundation. This program does include full level 2 and microsoldering training, so you can feel good to know that you will be able to handle these types of issues, and while you will learn electrical theory for diagnostics, just like a doctor in training whos going into his first day of real patients, you wont be Dr House or anything, but you will know everything you need to know to get yourself there and to not be tricked online in your endevors. this goes for any program 4,9,12 months long.
- 9-month program: Aims to hone every aspect of your shop including the technical training mentioned in the 4 month program, ensuring you lock in these services and skills at another level.
- 12-month program: Prepares you to scale your business, open multiple locations, and develop strong employees.
Each pathway is a personal journey driven by your commitment and effort. You can have peace of mind knowing that there’s no facet of a repair shop and beyond that can’t be tackled with experience and improved. The ultimate goal is to prepare you for the unexpected and ensure you can handle the covered topics independently when you’re finished.
I always hope to train the next industry leader but no, I cannot guarantee that you will be a million-dollar shop after completing the program. Success in this field depends on various factors, including your dedication, effort, and the specific circumstances of your business. While I will absolutely make a meaningful difference, part of the deal is that it’s your shop, not mine.
All of the things I teach are proven to work, but a significant part of that success relies on your ability to communicate effectively. If, when I’m not around, you have a bad attitude, it can be a major factor in your downfall. From answering the phone with a mediocre tone, to arguing with clients when problems arise, to writing review replies as if they’re personal attacks—these personal aspects of your business can sabotage you.
I think the best way to think about the training is to watch Dragon Ball Z and understand the transformation of Goku into a Super Saiyan and the difference between him and Vegeta. Goku keeps beating Vegeta over and over, always one-upping him, because of his positive mindset and overall kinder nature. While Vegeta is still very powerful, he constantly fails because he lets his ego and personal feelings cause him to make poor decisions. This apprenticeship works on the same concept as becoming a Super Saiyan—it’s a natural augmentation of your current self. It will multiply your already good or bad tendencies. It can either grow a terrible, ultra-bad ego or give you the ultra instincts to not only conquer but thrive in the battlefield of electronics repair.
If you don’t follow the guidance provided or if you treat your business poorly by using it as a personal piggy bank, nobody can save you. And if you’re just a few months away from bankruptcy and have already destroyed your reputation, all I can do is try to clean up the mess.
What I do guarantee is that you will receive a highly personalized and bespoke service tailored to your unique needs and goals. My aim is to equip you with the skills, knowledge, and support necessary to thrive and grow in the repair industry. Your journey will be unique, and with the right mindset and commitment, you’ll have the tools to reach your full potential. If you can’t make it work, personal responsibility is always at play.
Success in this field hinges largely on mastering your craft and freeing yourself from the golden handcuffs of a vocational-based business. It is imperative to learn as much as possible about both the technical aspects of your work and how to effectively sell and market it. Therefore, skipping the technical training is not an option. The silver lining is, if you already have a solid foundation, you’ll breeze through that part of the program. Your existing knowledge will be reinforced, and the practice, e-learning, and skill verification will sharpen your skills even further.

Good news! I offer flexible options to fit your time budget and overall goals. You can save money by choosing the portion that works best for you. I have eLearning packages for self-paced learning at the lowest cost, as well as 1, 2, 3, and 4-month programs to verify your skills over the same 30-hour period as the apprenticeship. This allows you to complete the training at your own pace, whether that’s slow and steady or at a breakneck speed that would give the Flash a run for his money. I’ve put the link below for you to check out all the details.
All single-hour consultations can be paid via Stripe using your preferred payment method.
For any consultation or service over $200, a service agreement must be signed. I also accept Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT coin for anything outside of a 1 hour consult. Apprenticeships must be paid in full upfront with no exceptions. If you qualify, Klarna is also accepted.
I understand that life can be unpredictable, but my goal is to push you to complete the apprenticeship. While I’m accommodating of major life events and can extend timeframes within reason, I won’t issue refunds if you decide to quit for a random reason. If you’re not fully committed, don’t sign up. If you’re worried about needing more time, it’s better to start with a trial or 4-month program and extend it later. All programs are priced accordingly, so you won’t lose much by signing up for shorter-term periods. The most popular program is the 4-month option, and I can work with you to extend it if needed. Where there’s a will, there’s a way, and I’d prefer you take less and add more if needed.
I believe it’s crucial to qualify candidates for the program thoroughly. This isn’t your typical community college course with limited real-world application. I offer a range of programs, consultations, and trainings that span from 1 hour to 1 month, and from 1 month to 1 year and beyond. You will have every opportunity to walk away before signing the service agreement. This is a true vocational skill program, and I will do everything possible to ensure it’s the right fit for you before you begin. I’ll be your biggest advocate in determining if this isn’t the right path for you. Once you’ve signed up, there are no refunds for the apprenticeship—you either complete the program or forfeit the investment.
